A Walk In Levens Park

Levens Park forms part of the Levens Estate, through which runs the River Kent. There are footpaths on either side of the river, proividing some excellent walks. The park was laid out between 1694 and 1710 by French landscape designer Guillaume Beaumont. Levens Hall also forms part of the Estate,. (*)

The footpaths are easy to follow through the multitude of trees.  

The colours at this time of the year were well worth seeing. 

Although the sun was shining, there was a chill in the air. A real Autumnal day. 

Look how thick the trunk of this tree is. I wonder how old it is?

You can walk right alongside the river here.  

On the silted up river bed. This is covered when the river is in flood. (*)
